What's up, everybody? In this video, I'll show you how to change the internal battery in an Acura RDX key Fob. This key Fob was used between 2016 and 2020 and uses one CR 2032 battery. You can get this on Amazon. I'll leave a link in the description and it's really cheap.

For a couple of bucks, it'll come right to your door and you can do the whole process yourself at home. First step is just to locate this lever on the front of the key Fob. Hold it down and pull out your internal key. Set that to the side. And now we're going to use this metal keyring to open this up.

We're going to go to the back of the key Fob and right in between that metal ring and the lip on the backside, that's where we want to put our flathead screwdriver, right in that little space here. So once you push it down to the bottom and you kind of feel that it's secure in there, you're going to firmly but gently twist, just until you feel a little pop. You're just going to twist. And now we've created a little separation there. Now I want you to come down that side twisting.

We don't want to damage anything. I want to keep your key Fob looking nice. So just come down, gently twist, and then you'll feel it pop apart like that. Set that to the side. Now here's our battery.

We're just going to come in. You can see this is the bottom of the key Fob going to come in on the bottom of the battery again. Just being gentle. Try to get your flathead under the battery, and then you're just going to pry it out like that. You can see once it comes out, you can just finish it.

Just finish it from there with your fingers. Now take a new 2032 battery. Positive side. With the battery information goes face up just like this. You can slide it in just like that and then click that into place and it'll be secure.

It'll sit flush.

And now we can just return this into place, clicking it, making sure that edge is all nice. Put your key back in and you're done. Your light should come on, meaning you did everything right and you're good to go. If this video helped you out, feel free to leave a like or a comment. First step, turn over to the back of the key Fob and find this lever here. We're going to push that and hold it and pull out the internal key. Now we're going to use this metal thing for the keyring to pull off this back part of the key Fob. So we're going to look on the back here's the front with the buttons on the back. We want to insert a screwdriver in between this piece of metal and the lip, the edge here on the back.

So I'm going to insert my tool until it's down to the bottom and it feels secure. And now firmly but gently twist.

Just twist like this until you just feel a little separation. Now I want you to stop and come on into the side and do the same thing. Just working your way down, twisting. Just don't want to damage anything. We want to keep this looking nice, so just take it slow and it'll come apart.

Same thing here. We're going to come in from the side with our tool and just kind of wiggle. Get under the battery and wiggle, being gentle, being careful. Just get under. Take your time and it will come just like that.

Once you're under, it just really pops out. No problem. Take a new CR 2032 battery. Make sure the positive side with this battery information is face up like you see here. And just push it into place like that and click it in with your thumb and it should sit securely in place.

And all that's left to do is click your two pieces of plastic back together and put your key back in. Go ahead and check that the light turns on. If it does, you're good to go.

What's up, everybody? In this video, I'll show you how to change the internal battery in an Acura RDX key Fob. This key Fob with the flipping internal key. Some of them have different numbers of buttons of yours have as maybe two buttons here. It's the same process.

Just go ahead and follow along and you'll have your battery change in no time. All you'll need is one of these CR 1616 batteries. And I've left a link in the description for you to get one on Amazon. For a really good price. It will just come right to your door and you will need a precision screwdriver, just anything to pull out this screw on the bottom here.

If you don't have a precision screwdriver, you can get a pack of these on Amazon. They're really cheap. That's what I'm using, the 1.4 millimeter flathead. It's really cheap and it comes in handy around the house. You can just get that for a couple of bucks and go ahead and follow along.

The first step is just to remove this screw. So I'm going to insert my screwdriver, twist it out, and go ahead and set that to the side. Do not lose it. Now, this front piece is going to be free and we're just going to kind of pull it up from the bottom here.

You can just pull it up and you can see it's now kind of sticking up at this angle. And the next thing you're going to do is pull it out, twist it maybe and you're going to hear a little click. That's not it breaking. That's just a mechanism. You put it back, you hear a click and yeah, once you'll get a feel for it, it just pops right out.

Now you can push on the buttons to remove this little inner square batteries inside here and set this to the side. On the right side, there's this little slot that we're going to insert a tool into and twist. Use the same screwdriver and just twisting. We're going to open it up. Here's our battery.

Now with the same tool, you're going to go under the battery and just try to pop it up, be gentle, take your time. And if you get under it, it really doesn't take that much force to just pop the battery out. This is the CR 1616. Take a new one and make sure this positive side with the battery information goes face down like so. And once it's in total housing, you just push it in.

It'll sit nicely in there, and then we can start reassembling. So we're going to put this back together, click it into place, make sure this edge all along is secure and as it should be, put this part back in. So the buttons are there. You can now test to make sure the battery is working. And now we're just going to take this and kind of stick it in at this angle.

Again. You'll feel it click and it's hanging on there and then you just push it down like that all that's left is to put our screw back in.

Give it a twist and we're done. That's all it takes.
