The Acura RLX was a mid-size executive car produced from 2012 to 2020. There are 2 key fobs available for the RLX, the “Smart 4-Button” and “Smart 5-Button” key fobs. You change the battery inside an RLX key fob yourself at home, it’s very simple. All you need is 1 CR2032 coin battery.

How to replace the Acura RLX “Smart 4-Button” key fob battery (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020)

What you will need:
• 1x CR2032 battery
• Flat-head screwdriver
Start by removing the internal key from the device. On the bottom of the key fob, there is a space between the metal key ring and the edge of the back half of the key fob. Take your flat-head screwdriver and insert it into this area then carefully twist. The key fob will come apart.
Now, take your tool and gently pry the battery out. Take a new CR2032 battery and put it face-up into place. Finally, click the two halves of the key fob back together. That’s it, your key fob is good to go!
