1. Remove internal key, press back button

What you will need:
• 1x CR1616 battery
• Precision screwdriver

Step 1

Locate the screw on the bottom of the key fob where the key ring is. Use a precision screwdriver to remove the screw. Set it aside where it’s safe.

Step 2

Next, with the key fob face-up, push up on the key ring until the section with the buttons comes free. The mechanism is simple: lift it up and pull it out.

Step 3

Now push down on the buttons for the little part housing the battery to come out.

Step 4

Next, look to the right side of this small piece and locate the slot in the center. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into this slot and twist. The device will loosen up revealing the old battery.

Step 5

Use the same screwdriver to gently pry the battery out.

Take a new CR1616 battery and push it into place with the plus sign face-down.

Step 6

Finally, in reverse order reassemble the key fob and put the screw back in.

• Flat-head screwdriver

Find the slot on the bottom of the key fob near the key ring. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into this slot and turn it like a key. Work your way down to the sides while twisting until the two halves of the key fob pop open.

Step 2

You’re now looking at the dead battery to replace. Now, come in from the side and carefully position your screwdriver under the battery, and pry it up. The battery will pop out with ease.

Step 3

Take a new CR2025 battery and click it into place with the positive side face-down.

Step 4

Finally, just snap together the two halves of the key fob and you’re all set.
