Chrysler 200 Key Fob Battery Remote Replacement (2011 – 2017)

The Chrysler 200 ran from 2011 to 2017. This five-passenger mid-size car was a customer-favorite daily commuter with a comfortable interior and stylish chassis design. Unfortunately, due to poor sales in 2017, the 200 was discontinued.

In this video, I will show you how to change the internal battery in a Chrysler 200 key Fob. This key Fob was used on 200 between 2015 to 2017 and just takes one CR 2032 battery. You can pick one of these up online. I'll leave a link down in the description to get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks and then you can just follow along. Really easy.

First step, flip the key Fob over and just remove your internal key by pressing on that lever and pulling it out. Now we can see there's a keyhole and right next to it is this slot that we can use to open this up. Take a flathead screwdriver or coin, something that can fit in here. And then you can just apply some pressure and twist, just twisting enough to begin to open it and then just gently working our way down, twisting until it comes free like that. Here's our battery.

Now we can just use the same tool to gently come in from the side, get beneath the battery and just lift it out. Come flying out like that.

Now take a new CR 2032 battery. Make sure this positive side goes face down just like that. Go ahead, position it in and click it down.

Now, all we have to do is reattach the two parts of the key Fob, really push it in there until it comes back together and you don't see any space between the two halves where the seam is and that's it. Super easy. Locate the small indentation on the bottom-left side of the key fob. Take a flathead screwdriver, insert it into this slot, and turn it like a key. The two halves of the device will come apart. Next, carefully remove the rubber piece with the buttons on it.

Now that you are inside, use your screwdriver to carefully remove the battery. Take a new CR2032 battery and click it into place positive side down. Finally, put the rubber piece back in place and click the face of the device back on. That’s all it takes, nice work!

In this video, I will show you how to change the internal battery in this Chrysler 200 key Fob. This key Fob just takes one CR 2032 battery that you can get online. I have left a link in the description to pick one up on Amazon for just a couple of bucks. And then you just follow along and change your battery yourself at home. It's very simple.

Just going to look right here, this little slot on the side of the key Fob. Go ahead and take something that's going to fit in there like a flathead screwdriver, insert it in, hold the key Fob firmly and just give a little twist until we have started to open this thing up. And then I like to just go in that opening, twisting, working my way through until it's free. It comes apart like that. Go ahead and set that to the side.

Remove this rubber part right here. And now we can just take the same tool and just go under the battery, push in, kind of lift it up and it pops out nicely. Take a new CR 2032 battery, make sure this positive side goes face down and we just position it, push it down, and that's really all it takes. We just now put it all back together, put the rubber component on, make sure it sits in place, put this on top and just push it all back together. And with the click, you're all done.
