Chrysler Pacifica Key Fob Battery Remote Replacement (2004 – 2021)

The name “Pacifica” has been used by Chrysler for a variety of vehicles. First, it was a luxury minivan concept vehicle in 1999. Later, a crossover concept was given the name. Between 2004 and 2008, the Pacifica was a mid-size crossover. Finally, since 2017, the Chrysler Pacifica has been one of the best performing and highest rated minivans on the market.

What you will need:

  • 1x CR2032 battery
  • Flat-head screwdriver

Start by removing the internal key from the device. On the bottom of the key fob, there is a space between the metal key ring and the edge of the back half of the key fob. Take your flat-head screwdriver and insert it into this area then carefully twist. The key fob will come apart.

Now, take your tool and gently pry the battery out. Take a new CR2032 battery and put it face-up into place. Finally, click the two halves of the key fob back together. That’s it, your key fob is good to go!

In this video, I will show you how to change the internal battery in this Chrysler Pacifica key Fob. This key Fob started used in 2017, and it's used all the way up to present day. And it takes just one CR 2032 battery. You can get these batteries online for just a couple of bucks. I will leave a link in the description to pick one up on Amazon.

And then you can just follow along and do the entire process yourself. So first step to changing the battery is we want to push down on this button here so that we can remove just hold that down. Can be a little bit tricky. Hold that down and pull out the key. There we go.

That's the hardest part. From here, we just want to take a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool. And if you can see here's the keyhole into each side, there's a little space we're going to put our tool in first. I'm going to go on the right side just like this. Let me go on the right side and twist.

And you can see I've created an opening on both sides. Just going to go insert in that opening that we've made. Twist again, come down a little bit more, working your way down. Let me go to the other side, go in the opening, the top, make another little opening. Okay.

And now I think it will just come off nicely like that. From here, you're going to need some kind of a tool that can fit into that small hole right there. I'm going to be using a precision screwdriver. If you don't have one of these at home, you could use a toothpick or maybe a pencil if you're careful. If you want, you can pick up some of these precision screwdrivers on Amazon.

I'll put a link down the description. Just a couple of bucks and they're really handy to have. So you're just going to take your small tool and literally just apply pressure into that area. See this little hole? There's actually an arrow right there.

You're just going to put a small flathead toothpick, whatever you got, push it down and you can kind of rock it up and the battery will come flying right out. Take a new CR 2032 battery. Make sure this positive side goes face up and just slide it in under that area first and click it down until it sits in there, flush. Now, it's very easy to just click this back in place and put your internal key back in as well. And that's all it takes, guys.

Super easy. If you found this video helpful, feel free to give us a like or leave a comment. In this video, I will show you how to change the internal battery in a Chrysler Pacifica key Fob. This key Fob was used on Pacifica between 2004 and 2008 and uses just one CR 2032 battery. You can change this yourself at home. It's super easy. All you'll need is one of these batteries.

You can go ahead and check the description. I put a link in there to get one on Amazon for just a couple of Bucks and then you can just follow along. First step is to locate on this part of the key Fob a small slot that we can insert a flathead screwdriver in, any flathead that will fit in there and just allow you to twist, just turning like a key until you have a little separation there between the two halves of the key Fob. And what I like to do is go down, twisting, twisting, until it comes apart easily with your fingers like that. Set this part to the side, carefully remove the rubber part, set that to the side and there's our battery.

We're just going to come under the battery with our tool and just lift it up until the battery comes out. Go ahead and take a new CR 2032 battery and we're going to make sure that the positive side is faced down when we put it into place and click it back in. That's all it takes. Just need to put the rubber back on, make sure it's in place and put the face of the key Fob right back on. Click it into place and you're done.
