Dodge Viper Key Fob Battery Remote Replacement (2003 – 2017)

The Dodge Viper was a high-performance sports car that ran from 1992 up to 2017. Without the stylish and fast Viper on the lineup, Dodge now lacks a true “halo car.” For this reason, the brand has announced its plans to release a new generation of Viper.

How to replace the Dodge Viper “Rounded” key fob battery (2015, 2016, 2017)

What you will need:

  • 1x CR2032 battery
  • Flat-head screwdriver

First step—pull the silver switch on the back of the device to release the internal key. Next, look at the bottom of the key fob. Next to the keyhole there is a slot. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and twist, this will separate the two halves of the device.

From here, all you need to do is lift the battery out of its housing with your screwdriver. Be gentle! Take a new CR2032 battery and click it into place positive side down. Finally, click the two halves of the device back together. That’s all it takes. Well done!

What you will need:

  • 2x CR2016 battery
  • Flat-head screwdriver

Find the slot on the bottom right side of the key fob. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and twist until the two halves of the device come apart. Now, use your fingernail or screwdriver to remove both of the batteries. Next, click two CR2016 batteries into place, one on top of the other, both positive side up. All you need to do now is click the two halves of the key fob back together. That’s all it takes.
