Hyundai Accent Key Fob Battery Remote Replacement (2006 – 2019)

The Hyundai Accent is a compact 4-door sedan first introduced in 1994. The Accent has had only two key fobs used throughout its life. Both remotes are powered by a simple CR2032 coin battery. The Accent has used the “2-Button” remote and the newer “Flip Keyless” remote fob. For other Hyundai models, see our Hyundai key fob battery page.

In this video, I'm going to show you how to change the battery in a Hyundai Accent. This is for models 2018 and 2019. The first thing I want is a small screwdriver. You can get like a cheap precision set on Amazon on for a couple of bucks. I'll link to that.

So take a small flathead screwdriver, open up the flip valet key, and on the side of the key side where the buttons are here, there's two indentations right here and right over here. And if you can see those right there, if you get your flathead screwdriver in there, you're able to pop off.

Excuse me, it's on the backside. So not the button side, but the back side there's. Indentation right there and right there. And if you get a small flathead screwdriver in there, you can get some leverage and you can see start to pop this back off. So if we go to the back one and that will be able to allow you to pop off the back of the key and get access to the battery here.

So we'll need a small Phillips screwdriver now to get these small screws out here. So unscrew this. And this is just a backing for where the battery is, so you don't have to be too careful with it. And we'll just unscrew this guy and the screws will stay in the back here. And then you can remove that set aside for now.

And then you get access to the CR 2032 battery that we need to change. And the easiest way to get this out is there's two longer prongs here and here. If you just pull the battery towards those longer prongs, it will release it from the shorter one, and then you'll be able to just pop it out like that. So grab a new CR 2032. Just make sure the positive side is facing towards you.

And then go underneath the long prongs, and that will pop right back in there. Go ahead and replace the cover screw that back in.

And again, we need a CR 2032 battery for the Hyundai Accent.

And then just pop back, right back on. And that's it. You've changed the battery CR 2032 in your Accent.

What you will need:
• 1x CR2032 battery
• Flat-head screwdriver

On the top of the key fob, there is a small indentation. Take your flat-head screwdriver and insert it into this indentation. Twist your screwdriver until the two halves of the key fob come apart.

Now, press on the bottom of the battery, pushing it up until you can remove it with your fingers. Take a new CR2032 battery, make sure the positive side is face-up, and insert it into the metal housing area. Push the battery down until it is securely in place.

Now, simply reattach the two halves of the key fob. That’s it! You’re all done. Nice work.

Hey, everybody. In this video, I'm going to show you how to change the internal battery in the key Fob for a Hyundai Accent. This key Fob was used between 2006 and 2017. And inside you will find the CR 2032 battery.

Now, your key Fob will probably have two buttons, but it's the same exact model and the process will be exactly the same. Inside, we're going to change the battery. That's actually really inexpensive. We'll leave a link down below, so make sure you have one of those and just follow along. The first step is to locate this groove in the top of the key Fob.

Take something like a flathead screwdriver, insert it into that little groove and twist with a twisting motion, you can separate the two halves of the key Fob. Now be careful when you open this up, likely the battery are going to excuse me, the buttons are going to fall out, but I'll show you how to put it all back together. So this is where the battery is housed. And even if yours looks a little bit different, the process is the same. Take your tool like a flathead screwdriver and push on the bottom of the battery, letting it out through this wider area here, and you can finish it with your fingers.

That's the CR 2032. Again, you can find the link in the description to get one of these. And when you have your new one, simply make sure the positive side with the text is facing up and insert it the same way you took it out and make sure it goes snugly into place. Now imagine the whole thing came apart a little bit. You can just start with this little rubber piece, make sure this goes into place and the circuit board on top of it like so.

And here where we have the button holes. You're just going to line them up, making sure that they're in the right place and they will just kind of click into place. And from there, take this and place it directly on top. And everything should go right back into place. And when you close it and click it all together, you should see the light come on.

The batteries should click nicely. If they don't, you're probably going to have to take it apart and make sure everything is in line the way I just showed you. But that's all it really takes to change your battery in your Hyundai Accent key Fob. Thank you for watching.
