In this video, I will show you how to change the internal battery in a Hyundai Veloster key Fob. This key Fob was used between 2019 and 2020 and uses a CR 2032 battery. You can change the battery yourself at home. Very easy. All you need is to get one of these batteries and the tool like a flathead screwdriver.

If you'd like to get this battery on Amazon, I will leave a link in the description. You can get them just for a couple bucks. So once you have your battery, flip it over to the back and find this little lever that we're going to push to remove the internal key and set that aside. And now we're going to see the hole that the key just came from. And beneath it a little slot for us to put our flathead screwdriver in.

So with the back facing up, just going to put my flathead screwdriver in that slot and I'm going to twist, just gently twisting until the two halves start to come apart. And then to be safe, you can work your way down, just twisting like that until they come apart. And now we're in. Here is our CR 2032 battery. You can just push on the bottom of it with your finger or with your tool, just being careful not to scratch anything or damage it.

And now you can get a new CR 2032. Make sure the positive side with this battery information goes up and just slide it back in place all the way down until it locks in place. Now all we have to do is click these two halves back together, make sure it's all lined up, and return our internal key and you'll see the light come on indicating that you did everything right and that your battery has juice and you're done. How to replace the Hyundai Veloster “Flip” key fob battery (2019, 2020)

The latest flip key for the Veloster will require two small tools. A small flat-head screwdriver, and a small Phillips screwdriver. Use the flat-head to remove the back of the fob, and the Phillips to remove the two small screws that hold the battery cover in place. Here’s my video on how to do it:

In this video, I'm going to show you to change the Fob battery for Honda Veloster used in 2019 and on. If you have this flip Fob smart key, the first thing you want to do is go out and flip this out, the internal valet key and you'll see on the side here on the back, there's two spots with an indentation here and here. If you take a small flathead screwdriver like you have from a jeweler set, you can get for a couple bucks on Amazon, go ahead and put small flathead right into that spot in the back there. And you can see you can get some leverage there and then do the same on the spot at the base and you'll be able to pop this back right off like that. Now, to get access to the battery, there's two Phillips screws here, small ones.

So if you have your precision screwed driver set, you'll need a pretty small one. Go ahead and unscrew this battery back in here to get access to the CR 2032 battery that we need to change and the screws will stay on there. So just go ahead and set that aside next to the battery. CR 2032. Easiest way to get this out.

There's two long prongs here. If you pull the battery with just your finger towards you, you'll release it from the shorter prongs there and it will just pop right out. So when you got a new one, make sure the positive side is facing towards you and then just put it in towards the long prongs first and then go ahead and replace the battery backing like so screw that back in and then the back will just pop right back in. That's how you change the battery in the Veloster for Hyundai 2019 and beyond.

Now, take your precision screwdriver or other thin tool and use it to pry the battery out. Come in from the right side of the battery, push down to the bottom, and gently pull the tool back until the battery pops out. Take a new CR2032 battery and put it into place face-down. You can get these online for just a couple of bucks. I will leave a link in the description to buy it on Amazon. And once you have your battery, you can just follow along. So first step is to push this button on the bottom of the key Fob to remove the internal key. Now we can see the hole that the key came from and then a little slot beneath it.

We're going to take our flathead screwdriver, insert it into that slot above the keyhole, holding firmly. Just twist and just with a little pressure, the two halves will come apart. You can pull them apart with your fingers or insert your tool in that opening, work your way down, twisting until it comes apart like this. Now the battery is in this little housing and can't really remove it with my fingers. If you have a smaller screwdriver than I do, you can probably get in the side there and just do what I'm about to do.

But I'm going to use one of these precision screwdrivers to safely remove the battery without scratching it. You can get a pack of these on Amazon. They're just a couple of bucks. I'll leave a link if you're interested. Otherwise, you could use a toothpick or maybe a pen.

But just be careful not to damage anything. We're going to come in on the right side of the battery, push all the way down to the floor of this little area and try to pry to get under the battery. And once you get under it and you pry a little bit, the battery will just fly right out.

Now take a new CR 2032 battery. Make sure this positive side, the battery information goes down. We're just going to position this into the little area here, coming down first towards this metal component and then clicking in the top. So position it come down, just click. Just goes right into place like that and you know that you're done.

Now we can just click the two halves of the key Fob back together. Throw your internal key back in and you can see the light comes on, meaning you did everything correctly and your battery has juice and it should work now. In this video, I'll show you how to change the internal battery in a Hyundai Veloster Key Fob. This three button key Fob was used on models between 2012 and 2017 and uses a CR 2032 battery. You can change the battery yourself at home. It's very simple. All you'll need is a flathead screwdriver and one of these CR 2032 batteries.

If you'd like to get one online, I will leave a link so you can purchase it on Amazon. It's just a couple of bucks and it'll come right to your door and then you can follow along. Once you have your battery, just locate this slot on the top of the key Fob. Take your flathead screwdriver, insert it in and just gently twist until you get this separation between the two halves of the key Fob. You can see right there.

You can pull it apart with your fingers, or you can work your way down that opening, twisting until the whole thing comes apart. The smart way to open it is to have the back facing up and then lift this off. But if you open it the other way and that happens, it's okay. I'm going to show you how to fix that. Don't worry.

Just make sure your circuit board is in this little rubber housing.

Take a flathead screwdriver or even your finger and push on the bottom of the battery gently until you can remove it with your fingers. Now take a new CR 2032 battery. Make sure this positive side with the battery information goes up just like this and slide it under this piece of metal until it goes all the way into place. Now let's put the buttons back together, back in their place. I'm going to take this one with the two buttons connected and just put that in the top.

That's very easy. And where is it? Then we have this trunk open button. I'm going to look. Okay, so this side is up going to see that is the upside.

Turn this over, turn this over and just position it in place. And once you get it, it will just sit flush in there and you'll know that you're done. And you just take this little rubber thing with the circuit board, gently put it on top of those buttons and then just click the two halves back together. You can see your buttons work and the light comes on, meaning you did everything correctly and your battery has juice and you're good to go.
