In this video I will show you how to change the internal battery in a Jeep Liberty key Fob. This key was used between 2005 and 2012 and takes one CR 2032 battery. It's really easy to change the battery yourself at home. All you will need is one of these batteries which you can get online. I have left a link down in the description to pick one up on Amazon for just a couple of bucks and then just go ahead and follow along.

I'm going to start by looking right here on the key fob. There's this little slot, this little opening that we're going to use to put a flathead screwdriver in whatever fits in there and just twist gently until you've started to make that opening right there. Just going to work down, twisting through the seam until it feels loose to me. Be careful not to damage anything and then just pull it apart like that. Set this to the side battery under here.

So we're just going to carefully remove this rubber component with the circuit board in there. Set that to the side. Now we just can get under the battery and lift gently and it will become freed like that. Take a CR 2032 new battery and make sure this positive side goes face down just like it was before and just click it back into place. Super easy.

Go ahead, take the rubber with the board here. Position it on top till it sits down in there like that. And then just click this back on top just like that. Super easy. In this video, I'm going to show you how to change the internal battery in this Jeep Liberty key Fob. This key Fob was used on Liberties from 2002 to 2004. And inside you will find two of these CR 2016 batteries. You can change your battery yourself at home. It's very easy.

Don't need to pay anyone to do it. Just follow along. All you need is two of these batteries. You can pick them up online. I've left a link down in the description to get them on Amazon for just a couple of bucks.

First thing we're going to do is find this opening, this little slot on this part of the key Fob here. And now take something like a flathead screwdriver, insert it in, hold firmly and gently twist. Very little effort. You start to open this up on the side. You can just pull it apart with your fingers or you can go down and continue twisting to push this apart.

Really easy. Now we have two battery stacked up on top of each other here. Just be careful when pulling these out. The first one you can kind of just pull out with your fingernail. Or you could use your flathead screwdriver if you'd like.

Someone comes up pretty easily. And the second one, what I like to do is kind of push down on one side, see how it pops up like that. And now you can lift it up with your fingernail like you just saw the floor. Or take a flathead screwdriver and just get under it and it'll come out like that. Take two fresh new CR 2016 batteries.

Make sure this positive side goes face up and they just click back into place super easily. One on top of the other. Positive up. Next, one positive up. Click and we're just going to click these two back together.

That's it. Done. If you found this video helpful, please feel free to leave a like or a comment. And for more information on changing changing the internal batteries of key Fobs from nearly every maker model, go ahead and check out fobbattery.com. Thank you for watching.
