What you will need:

Look at the bottom of the key fob. Next to the keyring there is a small slot along the seam in the plastic. Take a regular flathead screwdriver, insert it into the slot, and twist. You will hear a pop and feel the back of the device start to come off. Remove this piece with your fingers.

Now, looking at the battery housing, find the small arrow pointing towards an opening. Take a precision flathead screwdriver and insert it into this opening and pry the battery out. Take a new CR2450 battery and slide it into the housing, positive side up. Last thing—just click the back of the key fob back on. That’s it, your device is working again and ready to go!

In this video, I'm going to show you how to change the internal battery in this Jeep Wrangler key Fob. It's a new key fob that's only been used since 2018 all the way up to present day. And it takes one CR 2450 battery. It's pretty easy to change this yourself at home. Just to follow along, you can pick one of these batteries up on Amazon.

Just a couple of bucks left the link down in the description. If you want to get one and then just let's jump right into it. Turn around, turn to the bottom of the key Fob and you can see there's this little opening there going to take something like a flathead screwdriver, just whatever fits in there. All you need to do is insert and just give a little twist. You'll hear a pop and you'll see this back.

Pardon to come off. I'm actually just going to go work my way through that opening. Twisting, kind of popping the rest of it off. So don't damage anything. Just pull it off with your fingers.

Now this can be a little tricky. All you really need is to use a small instrument. I'm going to be using one of these precision screwdrivers. If you don't have one of these at home, you could maybe use a toothpick or just something thin enough to fit into that small area. If you want something like this, you can pick these up on Amazon to pack different sizes.

Just for again just a couple of bucks. It's really helpful around the house. So I'm going to use this one, insert into that little space and just kind of rock back and just do that. You can see it's starting to come out there and then it'll just pop out.

Once you've pulled it out a little bit, the whole thing will come flying out there's. Our CR 2450. Take a new 2450. Make sure the positive side goes up just like this and push it in. Slide it in and click it down.

That's it. Super simple. All you need to do is just figure out which way this thing goes and click it back on. Just like that. Once it's all secured around the edge there, that's it.

In this video, I will show you how to change the internal battery in a Jeep Wrangler key Fob. This key Fob was used between 2007 and 2018 and takes just one CR 2032 battery. It's super easy to need to change the battery yourself. You do not need to pay someone to do it for you. All you will need is to pick up one of these batteries online and I've put a link on the description to get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks and then all you need to do is just follow along.

First step, locate this little slot in the side of the key Fob. Take a tool like a flathead screwdriver, insert it in and just hold everything firmly and gently twist. Gently twist until you've started to open up this, pull the back off the key Fob and then I like to go in that opening, twisting, working my way down until it just nicely comes apart.

Here's where the battery is. All we need to do is remove this rubber part, carefully set that to the side and now we can just go ahead and get under the battery and you see very little effort. You just kind of lift it up and it will pop out of place. There's our CR 2032. Take a new one, make sure this positive side goes face down and just insert it back in and click it just like that.

Really all it takes very easy. You just need to put this rubber part back on, make sure it feels secure there, and then put this on top of that. Give everything a click back together and you're finished.
