1. Press silver button to release key

The first step is to press the silver button on the side of the key fob to release the mechanical key.

2. Remove back by opening bottom

Next, remove the back part. To do this, locate the openings on each side of the keyhole (at the bottom of the device). Seen that?

3. Separate key fob halves with screwdriver

Now, take a precision screwdriver and push it into the opening. Insert the tool into the slot and pry it upward to slightly open up the device.

Repeat this process for the slot on the other side. This will totally separate the two halves of the key fob.

4. Remove battery by sliding down

From here, remove the battery. To do this, simply slide it down with your fingers to raise up the other side. You can now take it out.

5. Insert CR2450 battery, positive up

Time for a battery replacement. Take a new battery (CR2450) and slide it into place, with the positive side up.

6. Reattach back, insert key. Done!

Lastly, click the back of the device back on, return the mechanical key, and your key fob is as good as new!

What you will need:

  • 1x CR2032 battery
  • Flat-head screwdriver

Step 1

Locate the indentation where the keyring is.

Step 2

Insert the flathead screwdriver into the corner of this indentation and twist gently or turn like a key to create a separation. Do this for both sides to completely separate the device.

Step 3

Now, carefully remove the rubber piece. Be careful not to rough handle the circuit board embedded in it.

Step 4

Using your fingers or a screwdriver, gently lift out the old battery from its housing.

Step 5

Take a brand new CR2032 battery and slide it into place. Ensure the positive side is facing down.

Step 6

Finally, set the rubber buttons back on top and click the front piece of plastic back to its place.
