1. Remove internal key from fob

2. Insert screwdriver, twist to open

Insert your flathead screwdriver into the keyhole and twist. The key fob will crack open and you can move the screwdriver down the sides to completely separate the covers.

3. Remove battery component from fob

Dump down the component with the circuit board and the battery.

4. Use screwdriver to remove battery

Now, coming from the top of the battery, insert your flathead screwdriver in between the plastic and the old battery. Push the tool up and the battery will pop out.

5. Install new CR2032 battery properly

Take a new CR2032 battery and click it into the right space with the positive side up. The proper way is to slide the new battery down to the bottom area and click it at the top. The battery may not click in if you do otherwise.

6. Reassemble covers and click, done!

Finally, reassemble the key fob covers and click. You’re done!

  • 1x CR1620 battery
  • Flat-head screwdriver

Step 1

Locate the indentation on the corner of the keyring. Can you see that? Great.

Step 2

Now, insert your flathead screwdriver into the slot and turn it like a key. Move the screwdriver to the sides and work your way down to fully open the remote key fob into two halves.

Step 3

Set the covers aside while you hold on to the device housing the battery. There are some overhanging pieces of plastic on the side of this device you must remove to have access to the old battery and replace it.

Step 4

Insert your flathead screwdriver into these pieces of plastic one after the other. Get the tool under each piece and push it up. The device will separate into two halves and you can see the battery.

Note: Don’t apply too much force and be careful not to damage anything.

Step 5

Using the corner of your flathead screwdriver, gently get the battery out from the upper angle.

Step 6

Take your brand new 1620 battery and click it in with the positive side up.

The last thing is to put the remote key fob parts back together in reverse order and click. You’re good to go!
