In this quick tutorial, I will show you how you can change the battery in your Subaru Crosstrek key Fob at home. This device takes one CR 1620 battery and is really easy to open up. Just follow along and the first thing we're going to do is look at this keyring up here. And on the corner you can see there is a little slot in the plastic. We're going to take a regular flathead screwdriver, whatever fits in there.

Just insert and twist and you can see. Now, I've made some separation between the two halves of the device. Going to go into that little separated area and just continue working my way down until this back part comes off. Now we set that to the side. Now we can remove this component here that houses the battery and has the buttons on it.

Now, if we look, you can see these little pieces of plastic. We are going to start to lift those up just to be able to pull this thing apart. So what we're going to do is hold on the sides that don't have those little pieces of plastic. Just going to hold it like this and use the corner of our flathead screwdriver to get under. And you're just going to kind of lift it up and pry a little bit.

And on the first one, it won't feel like you did much, but you've actually released the little kind of locking mechanism here. Now just turn and go to the next one. Repeat the process. Now you can see it's kind of coming apart a little bit more. Do that one more time.

And once you release this third one, usually it will feel kind of free enough that you can just pull it apart with your fingers. And if not, just move to that last one and repeat the process. There we go. Now, you can set this to the side and we will use the flathead screwdriver again to just lift this battery out. So if you're looking at this metal component and it's pointing down or to come in on the top left side and we're just going to insert the corner of our flathead screwdriver down to the base of this plastic and get under the battery lifted up.

It's really easy to do. It doesn't practically takes no pressure at all. And you'll be able to remove this CR 1620 battery. So make sure this positive side with the text, the battery information goes face down like this and you will just click that into place. And now we can just put everything back together.

So go ahead and line these two pieces up and click everything back together until it feels nice and secure. And then you can just set this back in here and click the back of the device back into place and test it out. Make sure everything looks good. And if you did everything right, if you followed along and you used one of these 1620 batteries you should be good to go so I hope that helped you out if it did you can let me know in the comments section or let me know by just giving this video a like and if you ever need help changing another battery in a key Fob or any maker model you can check out the rest of our tutorials here on YouTube or visit us at fobbattery.com.

In this quick tutorial, I will show you how to change the battery in a Subaru Crosstrek key Fob. This device here was used on Crosstrek between 2015 and 2020. Inside you will find one of these CR 2032 batteries. It's really easy to open this thing up. Just follow along.

And the first step is going to be to turn over to the back of the device. See the silver button here? We're going to hold that down and pull out the internal key. So you can see my key is missing. But you will just hold this down, pull out the key and set it to the side.

And now we can see looking into this area where the key just was. I can get some good light on there. So this is the keyhole here at the bottom. And we'll be using a flathead screwdriver here. This is the keyhole.

And right above it, parallel to that line, there's a little indentation in the plastic. We're going to insert the flathead screwdriver into there. You can see keyhole right above it. We're going to go in there and we're just going to hold the device very gently and twist. And now you can see I have started to open this thing up on the side here.

You just pull the back off with your fingers or you can work your way down through that opening, just twisting until it comes off nicely. From here, I'm just going to dump out the circuit board that houses also houses the battery from the top. And when handling this, I like to just hold it from the sides. You don't want to touch these delicate components. There too much.

Now we will pull the battery out. What we're going to use is the very same flathead screwdriver. And we're going to come in between this battery and the plastic here. So just put the corner of your flathead screwdriver in, hold this pretty firmly and you're just going to insert in and apply constant pressure. Just a little pressure in there.

Let me show you that one more time. So corner in and just start pushing down gently and just wiggling a little bit. And you will get under the battery and it will pop right out. Take a brand new CR 2032. That is 2032 battery.

And make sure this positive side with the battery information with that text goes face up and you will slide it down first, getting the bottom into place before clicking on the top. If you try to do it the other way, it's not going to go in. So you're sliding it down and clicking on the top from here. I just want to set perhaps the easier way to do it is just to look on this back piece of plastic. You can see there's a little image of a battery there.

Our battery actually goes directly on top of that. And it will kind of sit in here quite nicely. It can be hard to position it in this little piece of rubber but then when you're putting it all together you just kind of want to push them together. If you turn this upside down you might actually have your battery sorry your buttons falling out so you just kind of want to stick them together like that and then click everything back together. You can put your internal key back in and you can test it and you can see that light will come on now because your battery is in the right place.

You did everything right and now you are good to go so I hope that video helped you out and if it did you can let me know down in the comment section or just by giving this video a like and if you ever need help changing another battery in a key Fob for any maker model you can check out the rest of our videos here on YouTube or visit us at fobbattery.com.
