In this quick tutorial, I will show you how you can change the battery in your Subaru Impreza key Fob. This device was used since 2015 all the way up to present day, and it takes just one of these CR 2032 batteries to run. If you want to pick one of these up online, I'll leave a link down in the description to get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks, come right to your door and then you can just follow along and get this thing done super easily. The first step here is just to turn this device over to the back, hold down the silver button, and then we will remove the internal key.

As you can see, I don't have the key right now, but you will just remove the internal key and set to the side. And then looking at the area that the key just came from. Here we have the keyhole right above it. There's another little parallel slot here's the keyhole. And then we're going in right here.

Insert your flathead screwdriver into that area and just twist. You can hear a little popping sound. And that is the back of this device coming off. So now I'm just going to continue working through that opening that I just made, twisting until the back comes off nice and easily. Set that to the side.

And now you can just remove this or kind of dump it out gently. Set this down for now. Here we have the circuit board and the battery component. So I'm just going to hold this on the sides. I don't want to touch the back.

There any of that delicate stuff there. And what we're going to do is use the same flathead screwdriver and come in with the corner of the screwdriver right in between the battery and the plastic housing. So just pushing in and then applying a little bit of pressure and kind of twisting, the battery will pop right out. And here is our CR 2032 battery again. If you want to pick one of these up, I will leave a link down in the description for you to get one.

Probably the cheapest price available. It's just a couple of bucks on Amazon. So when you have your battery, make sure the positive side of the text goes face up and you want to push it down towards the bottom part here. First line that up and then click the top in. If you do it the other way around, get the top in first.

It won't move. You'll be pushing really hard. It's not going to come in. So just down and then click the top. Picking up the back of the device here, you can see that little image of the battery there.

We're going to set the battery right on top of that with the circuit board facing up. And when you're handling this part, be careful because if I were to just turn this over, this rubber component would fall out and so with these little buttons, this little piece of plastic for the buttons. So what we want to do is kind of just put them together gently and carefully put it back together. You can put your key back inside and that is it. You can just make sure the light turns on, make sure you did everything right and you are good to go.

In this quick tutorial, I will show you how you can change the battery in your Subaru Impreza key Fob. This device here was used on Impreza between 2012 and 2020. And it takes just one of these CR 1620 battery to run. If you want to pick one of these up, I will leave a link down in the description to get it on Amazon for just a couple of bucks probably the cheapest price out there.

And it'll come right to your door. And then you could just follow along. So once you have your battery and a regular flathead screwdriver, we can get started. So the first step is to look at this keyring up here. And on the side, there's a little indentation between the two halves of this device.

We're going to insert the head of the screwdriver into that area and just twist. And the two halves of the device will come apart. Now, you can go in that new little opening that you made, continue twisting until the back comes off easily. Set the back to the side, put your screwdriver now down for now. And we're just going to dump out this component with the buttons on it.

Inside here is actually the battery. And now we will turn our attention to these little kind of latches here that hold these two pieces of this device, this component together. And what we're going to do is take the same flathead screwdriver and just put the corner of it under this little latch. And we're just kind of pushing it up a little bit. And on the first one, it won't feel like much happened.

But you've actually just unlocked this. You freed this piece of plastic from the, you see this little one in the center? We're just going to the next one now, and we're just pushing until it comes over that little piece that holds it in, if that makes sense. But you just continue the process, put the corner in, kind of push and pry, and you'll feel these two pieces actually start to come apart. And you could just finish with the fourth one here and now with your fingers, it should come apart pretty easily.

Still stuck on this last one. So I'm going to try to just push that off. And there we go. We have it open now can set this part to the side using the same flathead screwdriver. And with this metal component facing down, we're going to come in on the top left side here.

And again, using the corner of our flathead screwdriver. We will just get under the battery, just go under and pry it up very gently, and it will fall out like that. This is our CR 1620 battery. And again, if you want to get one of these, you don't need to go shopping around the department store. You can just pick one up online.

And there will be a link in the description. If you are interested so take your 1620 battery and when you're putting new one in make sure this positive side, the one that has the text on it goes face down so we're flipping it upside down and clicking it into place. All we need to do now is reattach everything so just line this up, click it back together.

Same thing here. Make sure this component sits flush within the key itself and then click the back piece of plastic back on and you are all set. You are good to go. In this quick tutorial, I will show you how to change the battery in your Subaru Impreza key Fob. This particular device was used on Impreza between 2001 and 2004 and inside you'll find one CR 2032 battery. So you will need a 2032 battery and you will need a Phillips head screwdriver about the size to remove these screws here. So something about this size. By the way if you need to pick one of these batteries up you don't want to go shopping around in the store.

I will leave a link down in the description to get one on Amazon for the lowest price. It's just a couple of bucks and it'll come right to your door and then if you do not have something lying around the house that is this size that will remove the screws on your device. I will also leave a link to get some of these precision screwdrivers. There are Philips head and flathead screwdrivers of multiple sizes and again it's just a couple of bucks on Amazon. So if you're interested check that out.

And once you have everything you need we will just be removing these two back screws. And once we get this back piece of plastic off it's actually super easy. So go ahead, set your screws to the side, do not lose them and then remove this back piece of plastic. Here is our battery. We will just use our thumb and just slide it out gently.

Remove the old battery. Take your new CR 2032 again check the description if you need to pick one of those up and when you're putting the new battery in make sure this positive side goes face up and you just want to slide it down into place so that it sits securely. And then we would just put this back piece of plastic on and twist these two screws back in. That's all it takes.

Just going to give these couple of turns. You do not need to make them super tight, just a finger tightness so that it just holds the two pieces together just like that. And now if you want to flip it over you can press the button and the battery the light should come on if your battery has juice and if you did everything right. So if your light comes on you are good to go. I hope that video helped you out and if it did feel free to let us know in the comments section or just by giving this video a like.
