In this quick tutorial, I will show you how to open up your Toyota CHR and change the internal battery at home. Now you might be looking at this and saying, hey, mine looks a little different. Well, if it looks similar, but perhaps it only has three buttons. Don't worry, it's the same device, the same battery, and the same procedure to open it up. So just go ahead and follow along.

You will need one of these CR 2032 batteries. And if you'd like to get that on Amazon, if you'd like to get it online, I will leave a link down the description to get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks. And the first step here, just jumping right in, we're going to hold down the switch on the bottom of the device, hold that back and pull out the internal key. And now with a regular flathead screwdriver, we're going to look here is the keyhole. And then perpendicular to this hole, there is this little slot in the plastic.

So we want to go into this little area and we're holding the device loosely and just twisting the screwdriver and this will come apart. Now, we can set this down and kind of wiggle out or pull out this piece of rubber and the battery housing here. So just pretending that it all fell apart on you, we're going to put it back together on the end. So don't worry about that for now. We will need a tool that will fit into this little area.

I'm going to set my big screwdriver to the side. Now, you can probably use a smaller screwdriver if you have one laying around. I'm going to be using this precision screwdriver because we want to go in that area and just pry the battery out. And if you have something that fits, it'll be super easy. If you don't, you might kind of mess up the plastic here.

So I would recommend if you don't have something like this, I'll actually leave a link down the description to get some of these on Amazon. Again, it's just a couple of bucks. You get this whole set, the same one that I have here. But otherwise I'd say just go grab a paper clip, kind of bend that out and try to get in there and pry the battery out. Whatever will fit in this area.

And that is kind of sturdy. You can just stick it in there and pry the battery out. Now go ahead and get rid of your old battery. Take a new one. And again, that's a CR 2032 battery.

Make sure the positive side is facing up so you can see that text. You want to click it in there and make sure you can see that text. That's how we want it. And now let's put everything back together. So this just sits right into the rubber component there.

And then the rubber on top of these buttons make sure it sits down in there securely and finally we just click the back into place, click it all back in there and of course you can put your key internal key back in there and the light will come on meaning your battery is charged and you followed all the steps correctly so good job on that one and yeah I really hope that video helped you out and if it did you can let me know down in the comments or maybe just by giving this video a like and if you ever need help changing the battery and any of your other key Fob for any maker model you can check out the rest of our tutorials here on YouTube or visit us at fobbattery.com.

In this quick tutorial I will show you how to open up your Toyota C-HR key Fob. To replace the internal battery at home you will need one of these CR 1620 batteries. If you don't know where to get one of those or you just like to get one online, I will leave a link down in the description to pick one up on Amazon for just a couple of bucks. Now the first step here is just to flip the device over. You can see where this little keyring is.

See, there's a little slot in there. We're going to take a regular flathead screwdriver, insert it in. You can just pull it back or kind of twist a little bit too much there. You just want to twist.

You can just turn it kind of like a key and that will remove this back section of plastic and set that to the side. And under here is the battery of instructions here. You actually don't twist it. Kind of looks like he might twist it like a screw. You actually pry it out.

So you want to use the same flathead screwdriver, insert it in and kind of apply a good amount of pressure there so that it sticks and you just pry this thing out. And I will show you that once more, it doesn't matter which side you are coming from, just going to insert, let it kind of catch on the edge in there and you just pry it out. Now to get this out, it can be a little bit tricky. You will need a special instrument. I'm going to be using this precision screwdriver.

What we want to do is there's a little hole in the bottom, a little kind of indentation there. We're just going to go in there with our tool and pry the battery out and then it's quite easy. If you have the right tool, you can probably use a paper clip or something like that. But I do recommend using this. If you don't have anything lying around the house that can get this done, I will recommend this product here.

This is exactly what I'm using. A couple of different sizes of precision screwdrivers. You get a set and it's just a couple of dollars on Amazon. So I will leave that link in the description as well. What we do once more, just push down into this little hole, this little space at the bottom, push all the way down and pry the battery out.

When you put your new battery in, make sure you are going positive side up. You put the 1620 battery in there, positive side up. And now you can just push this little disk back in there and click the back of the device back on.

And that's all it takes. I hope that helps you out. And if it did, feel free to let me know down in the comments section or by just giving this video a like and if you ever need help changing another battery in any of your key Fob we have tutorials here on YouTube for pretty much every device from every maker model so you can always check those out.
