In this video, I will show you how to open up your Toyota Tacoma key Fob. To replace the internal battery at home, you will need one of these CR 2016 batteries. And if you'd like to get one of those online, I will leave a link down in the description subscription so you can get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks. Now, the first step is just to look up at the top of the device where this keyring attaches. And you can see there's a little indentation in the plastic there.

You're going to use a regular flathead screwdriver to insert it in there. Twist and open this thing up. But you need to make sure that the back is facing up, not the buttons you want the Toyota symbol facing up for this step. So go ahead and insert into that little indentation there and just twist the screwdriver that will crack this thing open. And you can just lift off this back piece of plastic.

And inside we have this little black component that we will lift out. So we held it this way so these little buttons will not fall out and you won't need to put them back in again. So just be careful, set that down, keeping it oriented that way, and then we can move over here. The battery is actually inside of this little component here. We're going to use the same flathead screwdriver to open it up.

So you can see there's actually a little arrow here. It says use coin to open can use a coin or just this flathead screwdriver that we already have out. And you insert it into this little area in between the black plastic and this little wall of clear plastic. And we just twist and it comes off very easily after you crack it open with a little twist there. And so here's our battery.

Once again, this is a CR 2016 battery. And if you don't know where to get one of those, check out the link in the description. And from here, we just want to put the tool behind the battery and push it in. It's that simple. The battery will come right out.

Let me show you that once more. So we're going up on the top, getting the edge of our flathead screwdriver behind the battery, and then just gently pushing in. And when you put your new battery in, make sure the positive side is going face up. So just click it back in as it was before. And you want to see that plus sign facing up.

Now we can just put everything back together. So click these two back together, carefully lift this up and set that right in there. And you can just clip the back piece of plastic back on there and you are all set and ready to go. If that video helped you out, feel free to let me know down in the comment section. And remember, if you ever need help with another one of those key Fob changing the battery in them we have tutorials here on YouTube for pretty much every maker model and you can also visit us for more information over at our website fobbattery.com.

In this video, I will show you how to open up your Toyota Tacoma key Fob. To replacement the internal battery at home, you will need one of these CR 2032 batteries. And if you'd like to get one of those online, I will put a link down in the description to get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks. And that will be the exact battery that you need for this particular device. The first step to opening this up is just to look on the side.

You can see there's that button there. Just hold it down and remove the internal key. And here we have the keyhole. And right next to it, a little slot in the plastic. Just take a flathead screwdriver, insert it in, and hold the device loosely in your hand and twist the screwdriver and that will crack this thing open.

Can I set the back piece of plastic to the side? And all we need to do is just use the same tool to remove the battery. So we want to go in right behind the battery.

You can pull the circuit board out. It's probably going to be a little bit easier. So pick this up. And what we're going to do is just insert the corner of our flathead screwdriver behind the battery and just push lightly wiggling it in and the battery will pop right out. So let me show you that once more.

You can see there's a little space between the battery and the plastic behind it. If you just take a regular flathead screwdriver and push that in there, the battery will pop right out once more. This is a CR 2032 battery. If you don't know where to get one of those, check the link in the description. I'll put that there for you.

And when you're putting your new battery in, make sure the positive side goes face up. So you just click it in and you want to see that plus side going up. Now pick up the back part of the device here, and you can see there's a little circle up in the top. The battery is going to sit directly on top of that. So settled that down in there.

And now we can just set the other part right on top and squeeze it all back together and put our key back in there too. So that is it. That's all it takes. I hope that was helpful to you. In this tutorial, I will show you how to open up a Toyota Tacoma key Fob to replace the internal battery at home. If you're looking at this device and yours looks quite similar but maybe just has three buttons, whereas mine has four. So don't worry, it's the same device used the same battery and the process to open it up is the same. So just go ahead and follow along. You will need one of these CR 2032 batteries to get this whole process done.

And if you don't know where to get one of those or you just like to get one online, I will put a link down in the description so you can get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks. This is super easy to open. You'll just use a regular flathead screwdriver and we're coming in here looking to where the keyring is, see if I can get that to focus. There's a little indentation in the plastic there. We're just going to insert a flathead screwdriver.

You could also use a coin and twist that will crack this open and you can just kind of remove this little rubber component. And inside there we have the circuit board and the battery and now you just want to slide the battery out. It comes up very easily and when you're putting your new battery in and again, that is a CR 2032. Make sure the positive side goes face up. So you will just slide that right back in there, push it in securely, and you want to see the plus side facing up.

Now the buttons are on the other side of this, so you can just line those up with the front half of the key Fob and it will sit in there nicely and you can just click the back in place and you are all set. Super easy process. I hope that helped you out. And if it did, feel free to let me know down in the comments section or just by giving this video a like so it can reach more people and help them out too. In this quick tutorial, I will show you how to open up your Toyota Tacoma Key Fob to replace the internal battery at home. This is a really easy process. You will just need a regular flathead screwdriver and one of these CR 2025 batteries. If you don’t know where to get one of those or you would just prefer to get one online, I will leave a link down in the description so you can get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks. First step here is just to look up at the top of the device.

You can see there’s that little indentation in the plastic. Take your flathead screwdriver, insert it into that area and just twist the screwdriver that will start to open this thing up and you can just pull it apart with your fingers or you can kind of continue twisting down the side if it’s still a little bit stuck. Now set that back piece of plastic to the side. If you are looking at the battery here, you can see that there’s that little space there, little opening the plastic. We’re going to insert a tool into there to pry the battery out.

Now you could probably do it with a flathead screwdriver. I actually have done it with this large screwdriver. It’s just more difficult and you might kind of ding up the plastic there. So I’d recommend using a smaller one. Ideally, you just want like a thin piece of metal.

I’m going to be using this precision screwdriver here. You could also use probably something like a paper clip would do well, but we just want something that’s going to fit into that area and then we can pry the battery out and it is so easy if you have something that fits in that little space there. So what you’re doing is you’re just pushing down, getting kind of behind the battery and prying it out. So here we go. Once again, that is CR 2025 battery.

And when you’re putting it in, make sure the positive side is going face up. So you just slide that down under these little pieces of plastic there and click the top end and you want to see the plus sign and that text looking back at you going face up. Now we just click the two paths of the device back together and you can test it, make sure that light comes on. And if it does, you are good to go. I hope that was helpful for you and if it was, feel free to let me know down in the comments section or just by giving this video a like so it can help some other people out too.
