Chrysler Town & Country Key Fob Battery Remote Replacement (1999 – 2016)

The Chrysler Town & Country is the third ever minivan produced by the brand. The long-running model saw production from 1990 all the way up to 2016.

How to replace the Chrysler Town & Country “Teardrop” key fob battery (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016)

What you will need:

  • 1x CR2032 battery
  • Flat-head screwdriver

First, look to the bottom of the device. Notice the seam between the two halves of the key fob. Take your flathead screwdriver and carefully insert it into the seam, wiggling as you push. Once the tool is inside, twist until the two halves of the device pop open.

Now, carefully remove the rubber piece. Next, use your finger or screwdriver to gently lift the battery out of its housing. Take a new CR2032 battery and click it into place positive side down. Finally, set the rubber buttons back on top and click the front piece of plastic back into place. That’s all it takes. You just changed the battery at home and saved yourself a trip to the dealership.

How to replace the Chrysler Town & Country “Fixed Key” key fob battery (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007)

What you will need:

  • 1x CR2032 battery
  • Flat-head screwdriver

Locate the small indentation on the bottom-left side of the key fob. Take a flathead screwdriver, insert it into this slot, and turn it like a key. The two halves of the device will come apart. Next, carefully remove the rubber piece with the buttons on it.

Now that you are inside, use your screwdriver to carefully remove the battery. Take a new CR2032 battery and click it into place positive side down. Finally, put the rubber piece back in place and click the face of the device back on. That’s all it takes, nice work!

What you will need:

  • 2x CR2016 batteries
  • Flat-head screwdriver

Find the slot on the bottom right side of the key fob. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and twist until the two halves of the device come apart. Now, use your fingernail or screwdriver to remove both of the batteries. Next, click two CR2016 batteries into place, one on top of the other, both positive side up. All you need to do now is click the two halves of the key fob back together. That’s all it takes.
