In this video, I will show you how to change the internal battery in this Dodge Durango key Fob. This key Fob has been used since 2014 all the way up to present day. And inside we will find just one of these CR 2032 batteries. You can change the battery yourself at home. It’s very easy.

Just follow along. You will need to get yourself one of these batteries and you will need to have a flathead screwdriver. You can pick these up online. I will put a link down in the description to get one on Amazon for just a couple of bucks. First step for changing the battery, turn this over.

Find this little button, this little lever here, hold it down and remove your internal key. Now we can see the hole that the key just came from and then right above it a little slot. That is what we’re going to use to open this up. So just go ahead and put your flathead screwdriver into that slot. Just gently twist, turn like a key just like that.

And you can see we’ve started to open this thing up, then just go in that opening, twisting, working your way down so that it comes apart nicely. Just like that. Now we have access to our battery. You can just get under it with your finger now and lift it up. Take a flathead screwdriver gently try to get under it and just pry it up.

It will come popping out just like you saw there. And here is our CR 2032 battery. Take a brand new one, make sure this positive side goes face down and just click it into place. Feel that it sits in there nicely and then just going to push these two back together really nicely until there is no opening along the seam, applying pressure and then just go ahead, pop your internal key back in and you are all done. In this video, I will show you how to change the internal battery in this Dodge Durango key Fob. This key Fob here was used on Durango between 2011 and 2013. And it takes just one of these CR 2032 batteries. You can get one of these batteries online if you’d like to pick one up. I have left a link in the description to get it on Amazon for just a couple of bucks and then you can just go ahead, follow along.

This process is really simple. First thing we’re going to do is take flathead screwdriver. You can see where this keyring is here. There’s kind of this little indentation for the keyring and then we can see the seam along the side. We’re going to go into that corner right there with our flathead screwdriver.

So finding our corner just going to kind of gently push and wiggle until it sticks in like that. And once you are in, give a little twist and you will hear a crack and you will see that you have just made an opening on the side there. Just be gentle and work your way down, twisting until you feel it kind of loosen up and it’ll just come apart easily like that. Now we can take these buttons, kind of this rubber component, set that to the side and here’s our battery. We can just come under it with our flathead screwdriver or even with our fingernail and just get under it and lift and it will come free just like that.

Now we have a CR 2032 battery. Take a new one, make sure this positive side goes face down and you will just click it into place like that. All that’s left is to put this thing back together. So set these buttons on top, set this face of the key Fob on top and then just click it all back together.

There we go. That is all it takes. You are finished and ready to go. If you found that video helpful, feel free to leave us a like or a comment.
