To change your Hyundai Tucson key fob, first remove the internal key. Do this by holding down the small button on the front of the device and pulling the key out. Directly next to the keyhole, there is a small slot groove in the plastic. Take a flat-head screwdriver and insert it into this slot. Twist the screwdriver and the two halves of the key fob will pop apart.

Now, locate the battery. You will need a small screwdriver or similar tool to remove the it. Try to get your tool under the battery and pull it out with a prying motion. The battery will pop out. Take a new CR2032 battery and click it into place face-down. Reattach the two halves of the key fob and put your internal key back inside. That’s it, you successfully changed your key fob battery! Well done.

You’ll need a small flat-head screwdriver to pop open the outer case it two spots. Be careful to pop open both spots! If you just try to pry open one side, you’ll likely break the plastic on the key fob as you can see I did on my first attempt:

Once you have the fob plastic shell open, there are two small Phillips screws to remove to get access to the battery. Once you’ve removed those, take your small flat-head and pry out the CR2032 battery. Put in a fresh new CR2032 coin battery and you’re all set! Screw back on the battery cover and pop the outer plastic shell back in place and you’re all set. You’ve successfully replaced the battery in your Hyundai Tucson key fob! Great work!

It’s very easy to change the battery in this Hyundai Tucson key fob. Look at the top of the key fob, above the light. There is a slot there that we can use to open the device. Take a flat-head screwdriver, insert it into the slot, and twist. The key fob will pop open, giving you access to the battery.

Now, just use your screwdriver to push on the bottom of the battery. Push until the battery is loose enough to remove with your fingers. Take a brand-new CR2032 battery and push it into place, face-up, under the metal housing until it’s snugly in place. Finally, click the two halves of the key fob back together. Test your battery by pushing a button on the key fob, if the light comes on, you did everything right and you’re good to go. Nice work!
