Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of battery does a Ford Edge key fob take?

Most Ford Edge key fobs use the LiCB CR2032 3V Lithium Battery(10-Pack). For optimal use, good cost, and good quality, use the Duracell CR215 3V Lithium batteries with CR Lithium batteries. You can also get it at good prices on Amazon(online or physical store).

Does it make a difference what kind of battery I put in my key fob?

Although CR2032 and CR2025 3-volt batteries are used in most automobile keys, this does not indicate that all key fobs can use these batteries. Battery requirements vary from manufacturer and vehicle to vehicle. The owner’s manual should contain information, features, and instructions about the precise model. You can always check the key fob that you are now using if the owner’s manual is not at reach.

Bottom Line

The key fobs in your vehicle are controlled by a wireless signal transmitted from the key fob, powered by a battery. Although a fob key battery can last from two to five years or more, if the battery in the key fob is weak, you might not be able to get into the car or remotely start it. Do not wait till your fob key goes off completely. Are you getting low battery signals already? Then change the battery now.
